Despite the strict measures that authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina introduced these days towards prevention of the further coronavirus spread and continuous calls for caution, the police keep recording the violations of newly introduced rules.

Acting upon the demands of competent authorities, the Sarajevo Canton police carried out 511 controls on Thursday and found out that 39 persons were not respecting the home isolation orders.

The Interior Ministry urged the citizens to obey the new measures aimed to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, which includes the ban on public gatherings, work of the catering businesses, shopping malls and other stores except for pharmacies and grocery stores, temporary halt of public transportation operation, etc.

Sarajevo police also called on the citizens to pay particular attention to allegations about the services that a group of still unidentified people offer to citizens disguised as health workers and asked that such cases are immediately reported.

In Bosnia's Republika Srpska entity, the authorities sanctioned 32 persons for the breach of the home isolation measures.

Only a day after the Border Police chief said five officers would be suspended for taking bribe in return for allowing entry to the citizens arriving from severely affected countries and contrary to the newly introduced measures, a new officer was suspended on Friday for allowing entry to three persons also contrary to the new measures.

The State Prosecution said Friday they would prosecute all breaches of the pandemic prevention measures, including the violation of the lockdown, isolation and quarantine measures.
