22:15 Four new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in the Serb-majority part of the country, Republika Srpska. Two cases are from Pale and two from East Ilidza, both former parts of the nation's capital. They are now known as East Sarajevo.

Following the 1992-1995 war in Bosnia, the country was subdivided into two entities, the Republika Srpska (RS) dominated by Serbs, and the Federation (FBiH) shared by Bosniaks and Croats. The subdivision also led to the division of Sarajevo, where parts of the city with a Serb majority became separate towns within the RS entity.

Residents of both towns continued to live as if the division never happened and many people from East Sarajevo go to work in Sarajevo every day, as it is the country's political and economic capital.

21:00 Bosnian health authorities have recorded 11 new Covid-19 cases and one fatality, over the past several hours, N1 learns.

Three positive results came from Una-Sana Canton, five from Herzegovina Neretva Canton, both in the Bosniak-Croat shared Federation entity, and three are from the Serb-dominated entity of Republika Srpska (RS).

The latest fatality was recorded in the RS administrative centre of Banja Luka, where a patient with multiple chronic diseases had died as a result of complications from the coronavirus.

The total number of cases in Bosnia, by 22.:15 pm Tuesday, was 423, of which 17 had recovered and 13 had died.

16:00 Two more COVID-19 patients passed away in Bosnia's Serb-majority region, bringing the death toll to 12 across the country.

“Despite the maximum efforts by our doctors and staff of the Republika Srpska Clinical Centre to save their lives, two patients, elderly men, have passed away,” the hospital said.

10:15 Bosnia's Republika Srpska (RS) entity confirmed another 25 new coronavirus infections on its territory Tuesday morning, while five more were recorded in the other half of the country, the Federation (FBiH) entity.

RS Health Minister Alen Seranic told media that of 25 new patients 12 are women and 13 are men.

According to Seranic, 1,649 persons in RS have been tested so far and 226 turned out positive.

With the new confirmed COVID-19 patients, the country's tally is now at 408. Seventeen fully recovered and ten died.

08:47 Eleven more patients tested positive for the novel coronavirus, the healthcare authorities confirmed Tuesday early morning. Eight of 72 tested patients were confirmed at the Sarajevo University Clinical Centre, while three more were recorded in Tuzla, north of Sarajevo.

08:24 Another ten infections with the novel coronavirus were confirmed in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton late on Monday, bringing the country's tally to 368, according to healthcare authorities.

Earlier on Monday, the southern canton also recorded two deaths caused by COVID-19, with a total of ten fatalities in the whole country.

Another fatality was confirmed the same day in central Bosnia with a patient who posthumously tested positive for coronavirus, which triggered the crisis management group in the Central Bosnia Canton (SBK) to place into quarantine both the health workers and other persons who may have had a contact with this patient.

By Monday, the number of coronavirus-related deaths in Bosnia increased to ten.
