Bosnian football superstar Edin Dzeko appealed to La Repubblica's readership and football fans around the world to “be patient” during the course of the pandemic, Anadolu Agency reported on Wednesday.

“I miss football and I can't wait to get back to training with my teammates but now it's important that we respect the rules which the government imposed. Health and security are the most important things. This will pass, I'm sure it will pass,” Roma Football Club's attacker said.

“It's a difficult situation. However, this situation should unite us all. It's nice to see people singing together out their windows and thus giving everyone hope,” Dzeko added.

He noted that the good side of the quarantine is that he can spend time with his wife and kids in their home in Rome.

“The kids have only now felt how nice it is to spend time with their mum and dad. I don't know how mum is happy about that cause I took over the entire gym in the house,” Dzeko said laughing.

This season, before the competition was interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic, he played 32 matches for Roma FC and scored 15 goals, with nine assists.
