A mayor in Bosnia who won election by one vote difference

A small town in the southern town of Kupres has seen an unusual outcome of the Sunday local vote in Bosnia and Herzegovina, when one of the two candidates running for the mayoral post won by – only one vote difference.

Gojko Sebez, a candidate of the SNSD party won the narrow race with the candidate of the SDS candidate Momcilo Maric.

Sebez won 95 and 94 ballots.

According to Bosnia’s Central Election Commission, which counted 100 ballots in this municipality, 189 were valid while seven were confirmed as nonvalid.

The voters could cast their ballots at one available polling station.
