After Dea Hardzelas and Mirza Basic dropped out of the Australian Open qualifiers, Damir Dzumhur was the next BiH tennis player to suffer the same fate in the 1st round of the first Grand Slam in Melbourne, as well as Tomislav Brkic who was eliminated in the first round of doubles.
On the night between Wednesday and Thursday, the Bosnian-Serbian doubles pair of Tomislav Brkic and Nikola Cacic were eliminated in the first round of the Australian Open.
In just one hour and 37 minutes of play, they lost 6:4 and 7:5 to the Uruguayan-Colombian combination Ariel Behar / Gonzalo Escobar.
It was Brkic and Cacic who lost to the same opponents and lost the ATP semifinals in Adelaide five days ago.
With this defeat, Bosnia and Herzegovina was left without all four representatives in the first Grand Slam season in the first round.
