The actions taken today by the US government are a warning to those that would threaten the stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina for their personal or political goals, US ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Eric Nelson said after the sanctions that were imposed on Bosnian officials, including Serb leader Milorad Dodik.
“Milorad Dodik's destabilising actions, corruption and attempts to undermine the Dayton Peace Accords threaten the stability of BiH and the entire region,” Nelson said in a video message.
He also recalled of the sanctions of the US Department of State on former President of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council Milan Tegeltija and leader of the Movement for Democratic Action (PDA) Mirsad Kukic for their involvement in significant corruption.
“The actions of Tegeltija and Kukic undermined the rule of law and the public faith in their government's democratic institutions and public processes,” stressed Nelson.
