Parents and members of the families of the victims of the massacre of civilians in the City of Zenica, which occurred on April 19, 1993, from the shell fired from the Croatian Defense Council (HVO), laid flowers Tuesday at the Memorial Plaque with the names of the victims placed on Alija Izetbegovic Square.
The grenade, which killed 16 civilians and wounded several others, exploded in the centre of Zenica around 12:05 pm.
The oldest victim of the massacre was 65-year-old Alija Hodzic. So far, the exact number of grenades that were fired that day has not been determined.
HVO General Tihomir Blaskic was acquitted in the court proceedings before the Hague Tribunal, according to the indictment for this crime against Zenica civilians.
