Average salary in Federation of BiH drops in February

The average net monthly salary paid per employee in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in February 2025 amounted to 1,525 Bosnian marks (approximately €779), showing a nominal decrease of 1.4% and a real decrease of 2.0% compared to the previous month.
Compared to the same month in the previous year, the average net salary was 16% higher nominally and 12.2% higher in real terms.
The largest decline in average net salary in February, compared to January, was recorded in the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply sector (-10.5%), the healthcare and social protection sector (-8.4%), and the mining sector (-5.0%).
Meanwhile, the highest salary increases were observed in education (+3.1%), public administration and defence, including mandatory social security (+2.1%), and accommodation, food preparation, and service activities (+1.1%), according to data from the Federal Bureau of Statistics.
The average gross monthly salary in February 2025 stood at 2,380 marks (approximately €1,215), marking a nominal decrease of 1.4% and a real decrease of 2.1% compared to the previous month.
Year-on-year, the gross salary increased by 16.4% nominally and 12.6% in real terms.
