Sefik Dzaferovic, the Bosniak member of Bosnia and Herzegovina's tripartite Presidency, said after the meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev that this country will help BiH solve the gas supply issue.

Speaking to N1's reporter in Baku, Dzaferovic said that the Azerbaijan is ready to help Bosnia and Herzegovina connect to the Ionian Adriatic Pipeline, a proposed natural gas pipeline that would pass through the Southeast Europe, and be supplied with the gas from Azerbaijan.

“You know that Albania, Montenegro and Croatia joined this project. Bosnia and Herzegovina has to do that as well. This would be important for our country and President Aliyev promised all his support,” said Dzaferovic, who is attending the 8th Global Baku Forum.

Bosnia has been for days dealing with the gas supply issue after the failure on the gas pipeline through Bulgaria. The situation left the country with the gas supply since its only source is the Russian gas delivered via the Turkish stream.

On Monday, the authorities reached a deal with Serbia to acquire gas from that country until the problem is fixed.
