Banja Luka Mayor Drasko Stanivukovic announced Friday he filed a criminal complaint against the Chief Urban Planning and Construction Inspector of Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity because of the "Kajak" case, announcing the demolition of the "Kajak" cafe, which is allegedly owned by Milorad Dodik's best-man, as well as the “Agape" cafe, owned by Dodik's daughter.
“We’re not giving up on the rule of law. The law is above anyone. Even above best-men, nephews, relatives, etc. We don’t have such a state today. The inspector ordered that the City strip be removed from the illegal building on our property (“Kajak” cafe). A criminal complaint was also filed. It may not be worked on today or tomorrow, but one day when this changes, it will be implemented,” said Drasko Stanivukovic.
Milorad Dodik has been in power since 1999, always performing top functions in the RS and his latest function is the Serb member of Bosnia’s tripartite Presidency. His party, the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) has also been in power during this time.
He pointed out that the authorities would start demolishing the “Agape” because everything was built completely illegally. He claims that the café only has a permit for an open garden, but that this facility has changed its purpose a long time ago.
We have the Kajak owned by Dodik's best-man, an illegally built restaurant on the city's property, and we will demolish it. Because we want to tear down the foundations of the private state. You have a [Dodik’s] daughter who has an illegal facility, a nephew who has illegal billboards. This city is defiant and proud and there is no man who can stop it,” Stanivukovic added.
