The draft resolution declaring July 11 as the International Day of Remembrance of the Genocide in Srebrenica will be presented on Wednesday at a closed meeting at the United Nations. This meeting will be attended by two of the three members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosniak Denis Becirovic and Bosnian Croat Zeljko Komsic.
The UN General Assembly is expected to vote on the resolution beginning of May.
If adopted, July 11 will become the International Day of Remembrance of the Genocide in Srebrenica.
Politicians from BiH’s Republika Srpska (RS) and Serbia have been lobbying against the adoption of the resolution.
RS President Milorad Dodik said it could lead to the entity seceding from the country.
