During the meaningful conversation, Becirovic pointed out that the relations between Bosnia and Germany are very good and friendly, and that, from the 1990s to date, Germany has proven itself as a strong partner and friend of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He emphasized that it is very important that the highest German officials send clear messages that they unequivocally support Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as stress that there will be neither a quick nor a slow disintegration of the state of BiH.

Becirovic informed Chancellor Scholz about the importance of opening negotiations on the BiH’s membership in the European Union as soon as possible. In this way, he said, space will be opened for essential reforms in Bosnia which will have positive effects on the Bosnian economy and society as a whole.

The Chancellor noted that Germany is one of the main proponents of BiH’s European path and that it remains a strong partner of Bosnia in the implementation of reforms, which will ensure the improvement of the rule of law, democracy and economic development of BiH. He pointed out that the interest of the FR Germany is to achieve permanent stability in the region by securing a European perspective for all the countries of the Western Balkans.
