Denis Becirovic, a member of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Presidency, condemned what he called "unacceptable pressure" on the judiciary in relation to the trial of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik and former acting director of the RS Official Gazette, Miloc Lukic.

Becirovic emphasized that the trial is based on an indictment confirmed by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in accordance with the country’s laws. He stressed that the judicial process must remain independent and that any form of pressure—whether direct or indirect—violates legal norms.

He also criticized threats of measures contradicting the Dayton Peace Agreement and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s constitutional order, warning that such actions could endanger the country’s territorial integrity and stability. According to Becirovic, maintaining peace and stability is in the interest of all citizens and must not be compromised by individual political agendas.

The first-instance verdict for Dodik and Lukic is set to be announced on February 26. Dodik and his allies have threatened radical actions if the ruling does not meet their expectations, prompting strong reactions from the opposition in Republika Srpska. Critics argue that Dodik should face justice as an individual rather than portraying the trial as an attack on RS.

Dodik and Lukic have been on trial for over a year for defying decisions by the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
