BiH Presidency member Denis Becirovic spoke with the Head of the Delegation of the European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Johann Sattler, about current events in the country and called for the EU to introduce sanctions against Milorad Dodik, the President of the Republika Srpska (RS) entity.

Becirovic pointed out that after the sanctions imposed by the United States and the United Kingdom on Milorad Dodik, it is necessary for the EU to do the same. He noted that the EU must not underestimate the destructive policy of the President of the Bosnian RS entity.

He said that after the adoption of the anti-constitutional and anti-Dayton conclusion in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, it is necessary to act decisively and preventively to stop the destruction of the Dayton Peace Agreement.

The BiH Presidency member recalled that Wednesday’s adoption of the conclusion, in which ethnic Serb judges in the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina are called upon to resign, represents a “dangerous attempt to copy the unconstitutional methods that were applied in 1992”.

Becirovic said that there must be no concessions to Dodik’s anti-Dayton policy.

“Due to Dodik's dangerous anti-Dayton policy in our country, it is urgent to increase the number of EUFOR soldiers in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Becirovic.

During the conversation, the two agreed that EUFOR has an important role as a guarantor of stability and security in the country.
