BHANSA achieves record revenue amid unprecedented challenges

The Air Navigation Services Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BHANSA) concluded 2025 with a net profit of 11.7 million Bosnian marks (approx. €5.98 million), marking its fifth consecutive year of positive financial performance following the pandemic. The agency reported record-breaking revenues of 94.3 million marks (approximately €48.21 million), the highest in its history, surpassing the previous peak of 90.4 million marks (approx. €46.22 million) set in 2022.

This financial success is characterized by a 19 percent increase in revenue compared to 2024, while expenditures grew at a significantly slower rate of eight percent. This disparity underscores effective cost control and stable financial management during a year that saw air traffic volume grow by 13.3 percent as the agency met rising demands from the European air traffic network.
The 2025 results are particularly notable given that the agency faced its most severe financial crisis to date. A legal ruling in the "Viadukt" case resulted in the enforcement of claims against en route funds, which effectively blocked BHANSA’s access to over 90 percent of its primary revenue streams. Despite this, the agency collaborated with domestic institutions and international partners, specifically EUROCONTROL, to implement crisis plans that ensured the continuity of operations.
Throughout this period of operational pressure and union activity, BHANSA management focused on maintaining safety standards and retaining professional staff. By prioritizing continuous dialogue with employees and trade unions, the agency was able to implement decisions vital for the long-term stability of the air navigation system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
