I am officially informing the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina that the Light Infantry Battalion Combat Group completed its inspection last night and that it was rated excellent. In addition to this unit, two platoons were also re-evaluated - the military police and the platoon for the destruction of unexploded ordinance (UXO)," Sifet Podzic, Bosnia’s Defence Minister, said Friday.

There are four grades – excellent, very good, good and failing – and five areas are assessed – preparation, operations, support, communication and information systems and administration.

“I can officially say that the Battalion Combat Group was rated excellent in three and very good in two areas. The final grade is excellent. The military police platoon was rated very good in only one area, the rest was excellent, and the UXO platoon was rated excellent in all areas. It turned out that man is the key factor,” Podzic said.

Through these areas, our soldiers passed over 2,100 tasks before the evaluators of the NATO alliance and partner countries. A total of 118 members of the Armed Forces of BiH were evaluated.

A military exercise was held this week at the Manjaca training ground near Banja Luka, to evaluate the light infantry combat group, after which members of the BiH Armed Forces showed that they are completely ready to participate in military missions across the world according to NATO standards.

The exercise started on Monday and during the five days of its duration, an assessment “NEL-2” was carried out according to the NATO Concept of Operational Capabilities (OCC E&F) with the aim of inspecting the achieved level of training of Battle Group members, as well as the readiness and ability to operate in a multinational environment according to NATO standards.
