Bosnian associations of genocide survivors have submitted a report to United Nations Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide, Alice Wairimu Nderitu, urging her office to take “concrete action” regarding the 2007 UN Action Plan which includes military intervention for preventing genocide.

“Information was provided on new attempts to provoke conflict in BiH as a basis for serious violations of international humanitarian law,” the Association of Witnesses and Victims of Genocide and the Movement of Mothers of Srebrenica and Zepa enclaves said in their third report to Nderitu.

A copy of the report was also sent to the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Alice Nderitu, UN Secretary-General's Special Adviser on Genocide Prevention, has been asked to take concrete action under the 2007 UN Action Plan, which includes military intervention to prevent genocide.

The document from 2007 stated that the UN had failed to prevent genocide in BiH and Rwanda and that it was unacceptable for the UN to be “a silent observer of genocide.”
