The Director of the Border Police (GP) of BiH, Mirko Kupresakovis, received today the Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the United States of America in BiH, Deborah Mennuti and informed her about the work of this police agency, the current activities it carries out in the fight against illegal migration through the territory of BiH, and the measures taken to prevent all forms of cross-border crime.
The officials also discussed the specialist training of police officers of the BiH BP, which is being implemented in cooperation with the US Government.
Kupresakovic also noted that the control and supervision of the state border, and border security in general, the training of professional staff, and the use of available specialist equipment are the tasks of the BiH Border Police and that cooperation and information exchange are imperative for creating a safe environment.
On this occasion, he thanked the US Government for the long-term cooperation and support it has provided to the Border Police of BiH for more than two decades, and, as a sign of gratitude, he presented the Golden Plaque to Mennuti.
The interlocutors concluded that work will be done on the additional improvement of cooperation between the BiH Border Police and the US Embassy in BiH, and agreed on further modalities of cooperation in the coming period.
