Bosnia's Constitutional Court decided on Thursday to temporarily prohibit the application of the Law on Immovable Property in the Republika Srpska (RS) entity until the final decision was made on the merits, Constitutional Court President Valerija Galic said Thursday.
Galic addressed the public after the 133rd plenary session of the Constitutional Court, which had only one item on its agenda – the appeal of Denis Becirovic, a BiH Presidency member, filed due to the RS Immovable Property Act.
Thus, not only was Becurovic’s request adopted but so were the requests of BiH Presidency member Zeljko Komsic, 11 representatives from the BiH House of Representatives and 5 delegates from the House of Peoples of the state parliament, for the adoption of a temporary measure.
On February 27, the international community’s High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, suspended the RS Law on Immovable Property, published in the RS Official Gazette, which was supposed to enter into force on February 28.
