Duska Jurisic, Deputy Minister for Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina sent a request to the chief of the Zvornik Police Department to conduct an investigation against the Mayor of Srebrenica, Mladen Grujicic, as well as a request for the protection of journalist and N1 correspondent Marinko Sekulic.

Jurisic sent an investigation request to Aleksandar Vasiljevic, the head of the Zvornik Police Department, which oversees the Srebrenica Police Department after Marinko Sekulic gave a statement to the police regarding insults and threats sent to him by Mayor Grujicic and requested protection, but he never received it.

She recalled that the police officers reacted to the Facebook post of Mirsad Omerovic (Srebrenica), who was detained for 24 hours, and to the alleged verbal threats of Esad Ibrahimovic (Srebrenica), for which he too was interrogated, and his house was searched, and Salih Nozinovic ( Zvornik) who was sentenced to a misdemeanour for insulting the President of Republika Srpska (RS) entity.

Sekulic previously stated that he did not know why Grujicic harassed him all night, threatened him and cursed at him.

Grujicic, on the other hand, confirmed for Detektor media outlet that he sent messages but said that they did not contain threats but insults. And that he did it because, Sekulic “dealt with his life and spread falsehoods” through the “Stories from Srebrenica” profile, adding that Sekulic was blackmailing him for a donation.

The journalist from Srebrenica denied Grujicic's allegations in a statement for N1, pointing out that the only thing he has under the name “Stories from Srebrenica” is the book he wrote and that he has never blackmailed anyone.

“I’ve publicly said several times that I have nothing to do with the Facebook page “Stories from Srebrenica,” which only shares the name of my book. I’m calling on the competent authorities to determine who is the owner of that page. As for the accusations that I blackmailed him [Grujicic] for donations – those are lies. My only message to him, before retiring, almost three years ago, was a note that I applied several times, as a returnee who has the right to do so, for building materials and that they have the opportunity to respond to that application. Of course, I didn’t receive the donation either then or now,” Sekulic told N1.

The duty prosecutor of the District Prosecutor's Office in Bijeljina was also informed about the situation.
