Talks between BiH political leaders and EU / US officials regarding the country’s Election Law reform continued Monday with the High Representative Christian Schmidt being the first to leave the EU Delegation building in Sarajevo.
These meetings are attended by Head of the EU Delegation to BiH Johan Sattler, US Ambassador to Bosnia Eric Nelson, US Envoy for the Election Law reform Matthew Palmer as well as Managing Director at European External Action Service Angelina Eichhorst.
The western officials are also expected to meet with BiH political representatives and at noon Palmer and Einchorst should give a press statement in front of the US residence, where negotiations will continue.
The Bosnia-Herzegovinian academic community believes that Palmer's consent to reform the Election Law would lead to further destabilization in the country and that it would in some way legitimize the earlier goals of creating a third Croat-majority entity. They warned that nobody asked the citizens for their opinion on the matter.
