BiH Foreign Minister confirmed that she ordered an examination and verification of all the obligations the country has from international agreements and memberships in international institutions, which could be subject to sanctions imposed against the Russian Federation.

“Bosnia and Herzegovina must abide by international law and the agreements we have signed. And clearly, some institutions must act automatically. We see that the sanctions against the Russian Federation are comprehensive and affect many areas. Where ever we see that we have a firm basis, we will immediately implement our obligations regarding restrictive measures, including the issue of flight bans,” Turkovic said.

In that regard, she added, she was informed that there are very precise legal provisions, which is why she called on all competent institutions to act in accordance with the law.

Turkovic also noted that according to the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA), but also according to the current Foreign Policy Strategy adopted by the BiH Presidency, the country is obliged to join the EU's positions and even restrictive measures.
