Bosnia and Herzegovina has the third most COVID-19 deaths per 100,000 residents in the world, according to data published by the Johns Hopkins University.
The country has 266,28 COVID-19 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants and only the Chzech Republic and Hungary, which top the list, have higher numbers.
According to the data, Bosnia has 200,693 confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic and 8,790 COVID-19 patients have passed away – a staggering 4.4 percent.
This means that the mortality rate for those infected with COVID-19 in the country is the highest in Europe.
According to all statistical parameters of the Johns Hopkins University, Bosnia and Herzegovina is lagging behind every other country in the Western Balkans.
