The MPs of Bosnia’s House of Representatives supported the appointment of the new State Minister of Finance and Treasury Srdjan Amidzic from the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) at Tuesday’s emergency session.
Amidzic’s appointment was needed after the previous minister, Zoran Tegeltija (SNSD), resigned due to his appointment as director of the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA).
The procedure requires that the House of Representatives confirms the minister’s appointment at the proposal of the Council of Ministers Chair.
Amidzic previously passed all the checks of the competent state institutions, which determined that he meets the requirements to be a candidate for the Finance Minister.
Since Tegeltija was also the Deputy Chair of the BiH Council of Ministers, the MPs supported the proposal of the Chair, Borjana Kristo (Croat Democratic Union – HDZ BiH) to appoint Stasa Kosarac (SNSD), Bosnia’s Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Minister, to that position.
