The Association of BH Journalists joined the activities of the International Federation of Journalists - IFJ, the National Union of Journalists of Great Britain and the Palestine Journalists Union in the campaign to protect all journalists and media reporting from the Gaza Strip.

Representatives of the IFJ and partners will gather Monday at 12:30 pm in Brussels and light candles to honour the journalists and media workers killed during the war in the Gaza Strip.

“According to data published by the International Federation of Journalists, at least 99 of our colleagues have been killed since October 7, 2023. The vast majority are Palestinian journalists, 92 of them. Four Israeli and three Lebanese colleagues lost their lives while performing their work, for whose lost lives we equally mourn,” the Association of BH Journalists stated.

The statement added that “lighting candles and honouring the killed journalists is the least that can be done at this time for all our colleagues, and we want to send a message that the killing of journalists, without whose reporting the world would not know what is happening in conflict zones, including the Gaza Strip, is unacceptable.”

A gathering of journalists will be organized in Sarajevo, in front of the Eternal Flame Memorial.
