Komsic expressed gratitude to Beyani for the efforts of his office, particularly the support provided during the adoption of the UN General Assembly Resolution on the Srebrenica genocide.

He emphasised the importance of maintaining a clear and resolute stance by the international community in condemning genocide, recalling that humanity once believed such atrocities would never recur after the Holocaust. However, genocide was committed in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and tragically, today the world is witnessing similar crimes in Gaza.

The Presidency Chair underlined that genocide prevention should not be viewed merely as a political issue but as a matter of fundamental civilizational values inherent to every human being. He stressed that truth, no matter how painful, is the best path toward preventing genocide.

Special Adviser Beyani noted that he had previously visited Bosnia and was well aware of developments in the country, which he said obliges his office to continue supporting the country. He also reaffirmed his readiness to enhance cooperation with BiH and strengthen international mechanisms for the prevention of genocide.

Following the meeting, Komsic attended the International Conference “Question of Palestine and Implementation of the Two-State Solution”, organised by the President of France and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. He also met with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, the BiH Presidency’s Public Relations Office said in a statement.
