BiH Presidency condemns RS Government over expulsion of German Minister

At an extraordinary session of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, convened at the request of member Denis Becirovic, officials strongly condemned the decision of the Republika Srpska (RS) Government to declare German Minister of State for Europe and Climate Anna Lührmann persona non grata during her visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina in early April.

Becirovic described the RS Government's move on April 4, 2025, as “scandalous and unlawful,” stating that it violated Bosnia and Herzegovina’s constitutional order and international diplomatic norms.

The Presidency adopted four conclusions:

Expressed gratitude to Germany for its ongoing support and affirmed commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation.

Oglas

Condemned the RS Government and President Milorad Dodik’s actions as unconstitutional and illegal.

Reaffirmed that foreign policy is the sole responsibility of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s state institutions, specifically the Presidency.

Confirmed the conclusions take effect immediately and will be published in the Official Gazette.

The conclusions were adopted with two votes in favour and one against.
