BiH Presidency meets Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican

During the meeting, the exceptionally friendly relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Holy See were reaffirmed.

Members of the Presidency thanked Pope Leo XIV and the Holy See for their support to Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as for the Pope’s messages of peace, solidarity and hope, which resonate strongly within Bosnian society. They also expressed Bosnia and Herzegovina’s readiness to contribute to strengthening multilateralism and preserving universal values.

The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina invited Pope Leo XIV to visit the country.

Following the meeting with Pope Leo XIV, the members of the Presidency also held talks with Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations of the Holy See’s Secretariat of State.

During the discussions, the parties exchanged views on the current political and social situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as on regional and global challenges. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of preserving stability and ensuring the proper functioning of institutions.
