The announcement of the Republika Srpska (RS) entity National Assembly’s special session, at which anti-Dayton amendments to the law will be considered, according to which the decisions of the Office of the High Representative in BiH will not be published in the Official Gazette of the RS, is a new dangerous attempt to destroy the Dayton Peace Agreement, BiH Presidency member Denis Becirovic said in a statement on Saturday.
“If the announced anti-Dayton proposal is adopted, it will be the unilateral demolition of Annex 10 of the Dayton Peace Agreement and the abandonment of this international agreement. The negative consequences of this mindless attempt are difficult to see and it will be even more difficult to control the anarchy that will inevitably arise if this anti-Dayton act is not stopped,” Becirovic said, adding that the move is linked to RS President Milorad Dodik's alleged instructions from Moscow.
“The latest attack on the institutions, established by the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, came just a few days after the announcement of the withdrawal from the Constitutional Court of BiH of the judge from the RS,” he added.
The BiH Presidency member noted that, given this is a direct attack on the Dayton foundations, prompt and concrete action by the Office of the High Representative (OHR), the Peace Implementation Council Steering Committee (PIC SB), and the witness state of the Dayton Peace Agreement is necessary.
