The average monthly net salary in Bosnia and Herzegovina stood at 1,600 Bosnian marks (approximately €818) in November 2025. This figure represents a slight nominal decrease of 0.3 percent compared to October, with the real index falling by 0.8 percent during the same period.

According to the latest data from the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina, salaries have seen significant growth over the past year. In November 2025, the average net salary was nominally 13.8 percent higher than in November 2024, while the real index saw a 9 percent increase.

Highest and lowest earners

The information and communication sector remains the most lucrative, with the highest average net salaries reaching 2,156 marks (approximately €1,102). This was followed by:

  • Financial and insurance activities: 2,073 marks (approximately €1,060)
  • Public administration, defence, and compulsory social security: 2,007 marks (approximately €1,026)

In contrast, the lowest net earnings were recorded in the hospitality and construction sectors:

  • Accommodation and food service activities: 1,156 marks (approximately €591)
  • Construction: 1,272 mrks (approximately €650)

Gross salary overview

The average monthly gross salary in Bosnia for November 2025 was 2,485 marks (approximately €1,271). Similar to net earnings, this reflects a nominal decrease of 0.3 percent and a real index drop of 0.8 percent compared to the previous month. On an annual basis, however, the average gross salary rose by 14.3 percent nominally and 9.4 percent in real terms compared to November 2024.
