Bosnia and Herzegovina women's volleyball team achieved a historic success on Saturday winning over Austria and qualifying for the Golden League.
In a statement for N1, Edina Begic, the captain of the BiH national team, said that a difficult but well-deserved victory had been achieved.
“A historic success for our national team. A well-deserved, but difficult victory. Our game was a bit down during the second and third set. We did not manage to find our serve earlier, which helped Austria win those two sets,” Begic explained.
She added that in the end it was decided by their “strength, atmosphere, will and desire. I am very proud of our team, the professional staff and everyone who supported us. Thank you very much,” said Begic.
The women's volleyball national team of BiH defeated the national team of Austria in the final match of the CEV Silver League Saturday evening with the result 3:2 in sets (25:22, 27:29, 23:25, 25:18, 15:7).
The team are thus the winners of the Silver League title for this season, giving them a seat in the elite CEV Golden League next season.
The BiH ream is also expected to perform at the European Championships in Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia and Romania in August.
