BiH’s State Police takes over Bosanska Krupa terrorism case

Under the order of the Court and the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in cooperation with the Police Administration of BiH’s Federation entity and the Intelligence-Security Agency (OSA), the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) has taken over the investigation into the murder of a police officer in Bosanska Krupa. This information was also confirmed by the Minister of Police of Una-Sana Canton (USK), Adnan Habibija.

SIPA officers conducted searches at nine locations on Friday evening in Bosanska Krupa and Bihac and arrested another seven individuals on suspicion of committing the criminal offence of “Terrorism,” as defined by the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“SIPA has taken over the case under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Naturally, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of USK is supporting SIPA in these operations, particularly the Criminal Investigation Police Sector and the Specialized Support Unit, as well as the Criminal Investigation Department of the Bosanska Krupa Police Department. There were several searches at multiple locations in Bihac and Bosanska Krupa, and I believe eight people were taken into custody,” said USK Police Minister Adnan Habibija.

A minor killed a police officer and seriously injured another one at the police station in Bosanska Krupa on Thursday evening. The killed officer was Ozren Maran from Bosanski Novi, while the injured officer was Avdo Hasanovic from Bosanska Krupa. The perpetrator was arrested, and the attack has been classified as terrorism.
