US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said during the joint press conference with Germany’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Annalena Baerbock, that the two discussed the security situation in Europe, especially in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Blinken welcomed Germany's decision to limit financial resources for Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity and added that they discussed how to maintain pressure on those who expose “BiH to great risk”, mentioning in this context the president of the RS, Milorad Dodik.
“We very much appreciate Germany’s leadership when it comes to limiting some of the financial flows to Republika Srpska’s president Milorad Dodik, to both rejoining and strengthening EUFOR’s Althea Programme, and we talked about how the European Union can maintain pressure on actors who are putting BiH at great risk. Notably, mr. Dodik, using all available tools and boosting the capabilities of the security mission”, Blinken said.
