Sarajevo residents discovered the body of a man in the Miljacka river bed, in the Pofalici neighborhood, on Wednesday morning. Sarajevo Canton’s Police spokesperson Mersiha Novalic told N1 that they and the local fire department and Emergency Medical Service received the call at 7:30 am after which they came to the scene.

N1 web portal is in possession of a photograph showing the body of a man with a bag over their head. The photo will not be published for ethical reasons.

According to preliminary and unverified information, there are no traces of violence on the body, Sarajevo Canton Interior Minister Admir Katica told N1.

“The information is still unverified, but the indications are that there are no traces of violence. However, this really needs to be confirmed and we need to see what the blood tests will show. The finding of a dead body is certainly a kind of mystery for the investigators, and it should be investigated thoroughly,” said Minister Katica.

He noted that there is always a trilemma, whether it is natural death, suicide or murder, as in this case, which should be investigated.
