A state of natural disaster has been declared in the Bosanska Krupa area, in the north-west of Bosnia, due to flooding caused by heavy rain and the overflowing of the Una and Krusnica rivers.
According to the latest measurements, the Una River water level is rising on average between 5 and 7 cm per hour, while the water level of Krusnica rises sharply, RTVUSK reports.
Due to the overflowing of the Una River in the narrower part of the city, the Green Islands were flooded, and the water also entered business buildings.
Agricultural land in the greater part of the Krusnica River basin is flooded, and residential and business buildings were also breached.
Una River also overflowed a section of the Bosanska Otok – Buzim road.
Meteorologists have announced precipitation until the end of May and warned that the highest intensity of precipitation is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday.
