Sources indicate that if Bosnian authorities rapidly adopt two pro-European laws concerning the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council and the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and appoint a chief EU negotiator, the country could see tangible progress in its EU integration process, including the scheduling of the first intergovernmental conference before the end of December.

N1 sources describe the EU’s relationship with BiH as frustrating, but they note that recent developments over the past several months have created a renewed sense of optimism that the country can move forward after years of deadlock.

The future of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s EU integration and the speed of its progress, sources stress, now rest in the hands of the country’s authorities.
