The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has filed an indictment against Bora Ivanovic, born in 1946 in Foca, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for war crimes.
Ivanovic is accused of acting contrary to the provisions of the Geneva Conventions on the protection of civilians during wartime and armed conflict. He allegedly participated in a widespread and systematic attack by the VRS (Army of Republika Srpska) against the Bosniak civilian population of the Foca municipality.
According to the indictment, Ivanovic, in 1992, knowingly acted as part of this attack. He is accused of using force and threats to endanger the safety and lives of the victim and her family, repeatedly raping a Bosniak woman from the Foca area. His actions constitute a crime against humanity under Article 172, Paragraph 1, Point G of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in connection with Article 180, Paragraph 1 of the same code, the Prosecutor's Office stated.
