Bosnia and Pakistan commit to boosting cooperation in defence, economy, and education

Becirovic expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s longstanding support during and after the 1990s war, emphasizing the importance of deepening cooperation in defence, security, trade, education, science, and tourism. He highlighted Pakistan’s military capabilities and thanked the nation for backing the UN General Assembly resolution on the Srebrenica genocide.

Focusing on security and diplomacy, Becirovic urged Pakistan, in its role as a non-permanent UN Security Council member, to advocate for extending EUFOR Althea's mandate in Bosnia and Herzegovina without diminishing its executive powers. Both leaders affirmed the need to align their strong political ties with closer business cooperation and reiterated their commitment to international law and peaceful dispute resolution.

Prime Minister Sharif reaffirmed that Bosnia and Herzegovina holds a special place for Pakistan, expressing full readiness to strengthen political and economic partnerships between the two nations.
