Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Foreign Minister Elmedin Konakovic met on Monday with Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed, Qatar’s State Minister for Foreign Trade Affairs within the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in Doha.
The meeting focused on the friendly and positive relations between the two nations, emphasising aligning their strong political ties with enhanced economic collaboration. Both sides highlighted significant opportunities for cooperation in sectors such as energy, logistics, IT, agriculture, and tourism. It was noted that Bosnia and Herzegovina has the potential to become a hub and logistical centre for Qatari industries.
Discussions also touched on the possibility of joint ventures between BiH and Qatar, as well as collaborative efforts to access third-party markets.
Minister Konakovic updated his Qatari counterpart on Bosnia’s progress towards European Union membership and the ongoing reform processes. He elaborated on the economic benefits and investment opportunities linked to EU integration, emphasizing how this trajectory supports BiH’s development and attractiveness to foreign investors.
Minister Al Sayed underscored the importance of the friendly relations between Bosnia and Qatar, expressing his country’s interest in investing in the Bosnian economy and fostering stronger economic ties.
The meeting reaffirmed the mutual commitment of both nations to deepen their cooperation and explore new avenues for economic partnership.
