Bosnia's Finance Minister Srdjan Amidzic and the head of the World Bank Office for BiH and Montenegro, Christopher Sheldon, signed the Grant Agreement worth € 8,000,000.
The grant is intended for financing the development of the waterway on the Sava River corridor, which includes demining the right bank and represents the project's first phase.
The project will improve flood protection and cross-border cooperation in the area of the Sava and Drina corridors.
The Western Balkans Investment Framework approved the grant and it will be managed by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The project will be implemented with the support of the BiH Communication and Transport Ministry.
So far, the World Bank's investments in Bosnia and Herzegovina amount to over $ 2.5 billion through 124 financed projects. The current portfolio of the World Bank is worth $ 558.11 million in 14 projects it financed.
