Bosnia approves import duty relief for key manufacturing sectors through 2027

Adopted during an extraordinary telephone session upon proposal by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, the measure covers 74 tariff headings and will remain in force until 31 December 2027. Enacted under the Law on Customs Tariffs, the relief targets raw materials utilized by domestic companies for finished goods, export items, or import substitution.

The initiative addresses formal requests submitted by Bosnia's Foreign Trade Chamber, entity chambers of commerce, and industrial representatives. Benefitting sectors include textiles, leather and footwear, chemicals, metals, electrical engineering, food processing, printing, automotive components, hygiene products, and defense manufacturing.

This marks the 15th decision on tariff suspensions and reductions adopted since the implementation of the Law on Customs Tariffs, following 14 previous annual measures. The 2027 list retains 68 tariff items from the 2026 schedule, removes three, and adds six new headings. The decision takes effect immediately upon publication in the Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina and enters into force on 1 January 2027.
