Bosnian Foreign Minister Elmedin Konakovic and President of Republika Srpska entity Milorad Dodik agreed in a meeting on Wednesday they would try to unblock the projects that are currently in a stalemate, for the benefit of everyone in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Addressing a media conference after the meeting in Banja Luka, the entity's administrative centre, Dodik said they agreed to create a team of expert who will work on mechanisms, in line with competencies and the Constitution, to prevent any obstructions in the future.

Konakovic noted that it has been too long that these matters were emphasised as priorities to argue about, and that they want to find a solution now to resolve those problems for the benefit of all.

The officials also discussed the appointment of ambassadors, with Dodik asking that the practice of all three Bosnia's constituent peoples being representat in embassies is exercised again.

He criticised Konakovic's predecessor, Bisera Turkovic, for “designing her personal, family embassies in the world.”

Foreign minister said he was not aware of the practice of “single-ethnicity” embassies.

“Foreign affairs are not partisan, personal thing but the matter of Bosnia and Herzegovina's relationships. I would like to have those activities coordinated,” he underlined.

Entity president assessed the meeting with Konakovic as “useful,” noting that they are still getting to know each other. Both officials agreed that the coalition at the state level will put in focus the matters on which they can reach consent.

However, Dodik reiterated the stance of Republika Srpska entity regarding the potential sanctions on Russia, noting that this is still unacceptable.

He added that he would insist on reducing of the international interventionism.

“Later on, we will try to reach a harmonised stance on the role of the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Dodik said.
