Bosnia furniture manufacturers showcase sustainable design at Germany’s M.O.W. Fair

Exhibiting for the fifth consecutive year under the umbrella of the BiH Wood Cluster “Furniture and Wood,” six domestic entities participated: Standard from Prnjavor, MIAM from Fojnica, Duka & Bosna from Brcko, Drinjaca from Sekovici, Jadrina from Gracanica, and the EventExpo KiK BiH business agency from Zavidovici. The event featured 620 exhibitors from 52 countries, marking a notable increase in international attendance compared to previous years.

Dinko Mujkic, President of the BiH wood cluster “Furniture and Wood,” told news agency FENA that collective participation enables effective promotion and direct engagement with European buyers and distributors.

“Today’s furniture market is increasingly shaped by demand for natural materials, timeless design, and responsible production. Design is no longer just a matter of aesthetics; it must be linked to functionality, durability, and a responsible approach to resources,” Mujkic stated, adding that the cluster aims to establish its brand as a benchmark for regional quality and reliability.

Exhibitors presented new collections centred on solid wood, modular configurations, and multifunctional furniture tailored for adaptable living spaces. Emerging industry trends highlighted at the fair included ergonomic design, an expanding market for outdoor living furniture, and the integration of digitalised production and logistics processes.

Drinjača generated significant interest with its solid wood collections and seating, reflecting consumer demand for natural materials. Representatives from Standard, MIAM, Duka & Bosna, and Jadrina reported positive engagement from international buyers, citing valuable market feedback and new commercial connections.

Mujkic noted that the long-term impact of the event would be defined by post-fair engagements, including follow-up negotiations, sample distribution, and contract finalisations. At a time when European consumers prioritise supply reliability, functionality, and craftsmanship, participation in M.O.W. 2026 offers Bosnia’s wood processing industry a strategic pathway to expand its market share across Europe.
