In order for Bosnia and Herzegovina to become a member of the Euro-Atlantic community, it is necessary to strengthen the alliance with the US, Bosnia Presidency member Denis Becirovic said in Washington, where he is on an official visit along with other two Presidency members, Zeljka Cvijanovic and Zeljko Komsic.
“I argued that Bosnia and Herzegovina should become a NATO and EU member state as soon as possible. My views are clear in Brussels, Washington, Sarajevo and any other city. In order to become a part of the Euro-Atlantic community, it is necessary to strengthen the alliance with the US,” he stressed.
Bosnia Presidency members attended the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington D.C. And held a series of meetings with US officials.
“During the previous years, anti-state circles have strongly lobbied against our state in the US. We must counter this with strategic action. In the most difficult period, the American people stood by Bosnia and Herzegovina and the US was among the first to recognise the independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We must preserve and develop friendships and we will strengthen this alliance that was created in the most difficult period for the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Becirovic said.
