Bosnia records 12.98 billion marks foreign trade deficit in 2025

According to the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina, exports from the country in 2025 amounted to 16.974 billion Bosnian marks (approximately €8.678 billion), representing an increase of 5.6 percent compared to 2024. During the same period, imports totaled 29.954 billion marks (approximately €15.315 billion), which is an increase of 4.5 percent.

The data shows that the export-to-import ratio stood at 56.7 percent, while the foreign trade goods deficit reached 12.98 billion (approximately €6.636 billion).

Regarding CEFTA countries, exports in 2025 amounted to 2.964 billion marks (approximately €1.515 billion), up 6.4 percent year-on-year. Imports from these countries totaled 3.662 billion marks (approximately €1.872 billion), an increase of 6.2 percent. The export-to-import ratio with CEFTA partners was 80.9 percent.

Exports to the European Union reached 12.405 billion marks (approximately €6.342 billion), marking a 5.6 percent increase compared to 2024. Imports from the EU amounted to 17.405 billion marks (approximately €8.899 billion), up 2.7 percent. The export-to-import ratio with EU member states stood at 71.3 percent.
