Bosnia records export growth in first half of 2026

Bosnia and Herzegovina's exports in the first half of 2026 totaled 8.837 billion Bosnian marks (approx. €4,518.28 billion), up 4.8 percent compared to the first six months of 2025, while imports amounted to 15.578 billion marks (approx. €7,964.88 billion), an increase of 6.1 percent over the same period last year.

The export-to-import coverage ratio stood at 56.7 percent, while Bosnia and Herzegovina's foreign trade deficit in goods reached 6.741 billion marks (approx. € 3,446.66 billion) in the first half of 2026.

According to the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina, exports to CEFTA countries totaled 1.374 billion marks (approx. € 702.51 million), down 3.7 percent compared to the same period in 2025, while imports amounted to 1.783 billion marks (approx. 911.60 million), a decrease of 0.5 percent year-on-year.

The export-to-import coverage ratio stood at 77 percent.

Exports to European Union countries totaled 6.806 billion marks (approx. € 3,480.38 billion), an increase of 9.3 percent compared to the first half of 2025, while imports reached 9.139 billion marks (approx. €4,672.69 billion), up 6.9 percent from the same period last year. The export-to-import coverage ratio with the EU stood at 74.5 percent.
