Bosnia sees household and commercial electricity tariffs rise in first half of year

For medium-consumption households using between 2,500 and 5,000 kWh annually, tariffs rose by 6.5 per cent compared to the same period last year. The average rate for this segment stood at 16.40 Bosnian marks (approx. € 8.39) per 100 kWh excluding taxes, and 19.46 marks (approx. € 9.95) per 100 kWh once all taxes and VAT were included.

Commercial rates experienced a similar upward trend. Medium-sized non-household consumers with an annual usage between 500 and 2,000 MWh faced a 7.7 per cent price increase relative to the first half of 2025. The average cost for this category reached 23.19 marks (approximately € 11.86) per 100 kWh, exclusive of VAT.

The statistical agency also provided updated figures for natural gas pricing. Household consumers paid an average of 28.40 marks (approx. € 14.52) per gigajoule (GJ) inclusive of VAT, or 24.25 marks (approx. € 12.40) per GJ excluding tax.

For business consumers, average natural gas prices reached 34.60 marks (approx. € 17.69) per GJ including all duties, and 29.60 marks (approx. € 15.13) per GJ excluding VAT.
