Bosnia still seeking 7,588 missing persons as modern technologies offer new hope

More than three decades after the conflict, Bosnia and Herzegovina is still searching for 7,588 missing persons, while the Missing Persons Institute of Bosnia and Herzegovina (MPI BiH) is stressing the need to introduce modern technologies such as ground-penetrating radar and drones, alongside search dogs and artificial intelligence, to speed up the process of locating the missing and reviewing extensive documentation.
