Bosnia and Herzegovina's Justice Minister Davor Bunoza and Eurojust President Michael Schmid signed a operational Working Arrangement today at Eurojust headquarters in The Hague, establishing the framework for full cooperation between national judicial authorities and the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation.

The newly signed Working Arrangement details practical mechanisms for joint action, most notably enabling the secondment of liaison prosecutors from Bosnia and Herzegovina directly to Eurojust headquarters. The operational framework also provides for two assistant liaison prosecutors, alongside dedicated contact points established within both the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

These structural channels are designed to streamline secure information exchange and allow national prosecutors to participate directly in Eurojust operational meetings and coordination centres, facilitating cross-border investigations alongside EU member states.

Minister Bunoza highlighted that the agreement closes a crucial gap between Bosnia and Herzegovina and neighbouring Western Balkan states in regional law enforcement cooperation.

"We have worked hard together to reach this point, and I believe this is an important step in the fight against cross-border crime," Bunoza stated, thanking Eurojust President Michael Schmid for the collaboration and noting that the agreement represents a concrete step toward alignment with European judicial standards.

The signing ceremony and bilateral meetings in The Hague were also attended by Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milanko Kajganic.
