Bosnia: Tourist arrivals increase by 13.2 pct, Latvians stay the longest

The number of tourist arrivals in Bosnia and Herzegovina in August 2023 increased by 8.2 percent compared to July, and it was 13.2 percent higher than in August 2022, according to official statistic dana.

The number of over night stays in August increased by 11.3 percent compared to July 2023 and 9.7 percent compared to August 2022.The participation of domestic tourists in total number of overnight stays was 26.8 percent, while the rest was made by foreign tourists.

As for the structure of foreign tourists within the overnight stays statistics, the tourists from Saudi Arabia top the list (12.7 percent), followed by Croatia (7.7 percent), Serbia (7.6 percent), Turkey (7.4 percent), Germany (5.5 percent), Kuwait (4.9 percent), United Arab Emirates (4.6 percent), Slovenia (4.0 percent), Austria (3.1 percent) and Italy with (3.0 percent), which is a total of 60.5 percent. Tourists from other countries accounted for 39.5 percent of overnight stays.

In terms of the length of foreign tourists in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the first place is occupied by tourists from Latvia with 5.5 nights, followed by Kuwait and Iran with 3.7 nights each, Qatar 3.6, Albania and the United Arab Emirates with 3.3 each, and France and Egypt with an average of 3.2 overnight stays, according to Bosnian Statistics Agency.
